Dragostea are sapte nume

Dragostea are sapte nume.
Stii care sunt acelea?
Funie, Lumina, Foc, Carbune
reprezinta domeniul ei.

Celelalte, bune si ele,
mai modeste, dar cu viata:
Ceata, Iad, Apa Vietii.
Le numesc aici (pentru ca ele
sunt in Scriptura),
explicand fiecare semn
ca virtute si forma.
Eu spun adevarul in semne.
Dragostea apare in fiecare zi
pentru cel care ofera dragoste.
Acea intelepciune este suficienta.

Dragostea este o FUNIE, pentru ca ne leaga
si ne tine in jugul sau.
Poate face totul, nimic nu o distruge.
Tu care iubesti trebuie sa stii.

Intelesul cuvantului LUMINA
este cunoscut celor care
ofera daruri de iubire,
aprobate sau condamnate.

Scriptura ne dezvaluie
simbolul CARBUNELUI:
singurul dar sublim pe care
Dumnezeu il ofera sufletului intim.

Sub numele de FOC, norocul,
nenorocul, bucuria sau intristarea,
se consuma. Suntem acaparati
de aceeasi caldura din partea amandurora.

Cand totul este ars
in propria sa violenta, CEATA,
venind ca o briza, ia o pauza
si aduce binele.

APA VIE (al saselea sau nume)
inunda si se retrage
pe masura ce dragostea mea creste
si dispare din raza vizuala.

IADUL (ii simt tortura)
blestema, acoperind lumea.
Nimic nu scapa. Nimeni nu detine gratia
de a gasi o cale de iesire.

Ai grija, tu cel care doresti
sa atribui nume
dragostei. In spatele dulcetii lor
si al urgiei, nimic nu rezista.
Nimic, doar ranile si sarutarile.

Desi dragostea pare foarte departe,
te vei cufunda in adancimea ei.

A wonderful poem....Love has seven names

Love has seven names.
Do you know what they are?
Rope, Light, Fire, Coal
make up its domain.

The others, also good,
more modest but alive:
Dew, Hell, the Living Water.
I name them here (for they
are in the Scriptures),
explaining every sign
for virtue and form.
I tell the truth in signs.
Love appears every day
for one who offers love.
That wisdom is enough.

Love is a ROPE, for it ties
and holds us in its yoke.
It can do all, nothing snaps it.
You who love must know.

The meaning of LIGHT
is known to those who
offer gifts of love,
approved or condemned.

The Scripture tell us
the symbol of COAL:
the one sublime gift
God gives the intimate soul.

Under the name of FIRE, luck,
bad luck, joy or no joy,
consumes. We are seized
by the same heat from both.

When everything is burnt
in its own violence, the DEW,
coming like a breeze, pauses
and brings the good.

LIVING WATER (its sixth name)
flows and ebbs
as my love grows
and disappears from sight.

HELL (I feel its torture)
damns, covering the world.
Nothing escapes. No one has grace
to see a way out.

Take care, you who wish
to deal with names
for love. Behind their sweetness
and wrath, nothing endures.
Nothing but wounds and kisses.

Though love appears far off,
you will move into its depth.
